Blue Limbo

''BLUE LIMBO'' is the ninth solo album by Susumu Hirasawa. It was influenced by the Iraq War and the remaining traces of the Cambodian Civil War seen by Hirasawa in a trip to the country, where he visited the Cambodian Landmine Museum. The title refers to the name of the dystopian planet the album's story takes place in. The album is, alongside ''Byakkoya - White Tiger Field'' and ''Planet Roll Call'', part of a trilogy that revolves around the concept of "Dystopia".
"RIDE THE BLUE LIMBO" was released ahead of the album as a free MP3 on Hirasawa's website on Christmas 2002. One day before its release, "High-Minded Castle" and a new re-recording of "Love Song" from ''AURORA'' were given away for free to be used as a way to protest against the American response to the September 11 attacks and the compliance of the Japanese government to those actions.
